USER TESTING
TO ENSURE
ACCESSIBILITY

Mapili is a project about creating a communal space around an elder with the intention of keeping them connected to family and friends. The primary challenge was designing an interface for a demographic who might not be the most technologically literate and ensuring they would still be able to use and enjoy the product. This required research into accessibility standards and making design decisions within an accessibility first framework.

MEETING YOUR USERS WHERE THEY ARE

Even when technology is created with accessibility standards in mind your target demographics it doesn't necessarily mean that it will work. Mapili was particularly interesting because part of what they offer is a print subscription option that elders would receive monthly in order to keep abreast of all the family news.
